Why can't we have a better cable service?

Great. For some reason my France 24 feed is down. I blame Comcast. Pithy analysis of tonight's debate between Sarko and Sego will have to wait until I can find a transcript.

Dubya and American Idol A friend writes: How did I miss it that President Bush went on "American Idol" last night? Has anyone brought up the eerie similarities to the Hugh Grant movie "American Dreamz"? In that movie a slow-witted President with sagging popularity appears on an American Idol-like show to re-engage the American public. I watched in on an Air France flight last year...not bad, I laughed because it was so absurdly real and it captured an absurd moment in our history. Little did I know it portends the breaking of the seventh seal and the end of days when it happens in real life. Harsh but fair? What say you, gentle reader?
